Heritage

Our Heritage

EUROPE'S FIRST ECO POWERED ELECTRICITY

Built by the Victorians in 1894, Powick Mills Power Station was the first Hydro-Electric Power Station built in Europe. One of Worcester's most iconic land-mark buildings, it is now a collection of bespoke privately owned apartments.

Set astride the confluence of the river Teme, and Laughern Brook, Powick Mills overlooks Old Powick Bridge; the site of the first major cavalry engagement  of the English Civil War in 1642.  Re-enactments still take place on the bridge, with the Royalists still triumphant.

The Power Station is located minutes away from Junction 7 on the M5, one mile from Worcester's famous New Road cricket ground, within walking distance to two great restaurants, Cromwell's, serving Indian & Nepalese dishes, & Ego's offers our guests a discount on Mediterranean dining. There is easy access to the Cathedral & town centre by road, or a flat 20 minute stroll along the tow paths meandering along-side the       River Severn, past The Diglis Basin and canals.

More like a boutique hotel

Wow! This is more like a boutique hotel than a B&B!

You have a ‘mini suite’ with a very large comfortable bed, sofa area,

luxury en-suite and even a mezzanine area! Juliet is such a lovely warm host. Individual design touches make the room feel

             very unique and luxurious

Wow this home is stunning!

5 star accommodation

and service

yet so welcoming,

warm and relaxing.

Juliet and Paul are lovely hosts,

felt like I'd known them for years

Definitely 5* luxury

Fabulous stay. Amazing hosts, kind, thoughtful and made the stay extra special. Stunning with great views and is definitely 5* luxury. Nothing was too much trouble; Gluten free cookies on arrival! These extra touches throughout the stay meant we were reluctant to leave and will definitely return

Absolutely

unique

If you like trying 'different' then this is the place for you. Absolutely unique property.  Our large bedroom had several unusual features - a round window and the en-suite bathroom was superb. The continental breakfast was magnificent with plenty of choice. Juliet was a fantastic host

Amazing breakfast

Juliet was an exceptional host in her lovely home. The breakfast was amazing in the morning and myself and partner had an excellent nights sleep on the really comfy bed.

Would definitely book again if in the area and recommend to anyone

A little

Honestly, what an absolutely great place to stay.

Wonderful host, lovely room,

Brilliant

location

Juliet was an amazing host, the property is beautiful, the room had everything that you require, the service was outstanding, the location is brilliant, very close to the city centre.

I would advise everyone to stay there, it was an amazing experience

Fascinating history

We had no idea that Juliet's home would be quite  so stunning. A truly wonderful host. Wonderful breakfast; a lavish bed, bedroom & bathroom; & fascinating history.

Add in jellybeans & 2 friendly kitties...

              our favourite stay so far

Original architecture

It  was so lovely to stay in Juliet and Paul’s home. They were very accommodating and welcoming.

It is in a great location, a walk by the canal on a sunny day is beautiful.

The mill itself is great and keeps a  lot of the original architecture and history

Wonderful

hosts

Don’t miss this place!

This is really unique.

Wonderful hosts and very lovely accommodation.

Full points from every aspect.

Good things

to say!

Booked as a present for my parents Juliet' s communication from the beginning to end was fantastic.

My mum and dad loved it.

They have nothing but good things to say so a big thank you for making it special for them
